The journey ....

It's actually happened. We have arrived in Kochi, Kerala. Everything went according to plan, and apart from a bit of turbulence (quite a bit of turbulence 😨) the flights went well. No problem getting into India. We weren't even asked if we had anything to declare !  So we grabbed our bags and walked on out of the airport and were met by Dennis. Our driver/guide for the next 11 days. He had a big bunch of flowers for us, and seems keen to help. While still outside the airport a rep from the travel company (Bout India ) rang to see that everything was OK.

If I look tired it's because I had been awake since 6 am NZ time, and this was 10 pm at night - India time. Works out to about 21 hours. We still had another hour of travel to get to our hotel.

And what a hotel it is! Look it up sometime. Brunton Boatyard. It's absolutely beautiful, and right on the harbours edge. He have an upstairs room, overlooking the water. Here are a few snaps of the room.

Had a great nights sleep, until Dave alarm went off at 6am (wtf?)  Had a nice leisurely breakfast at the hotel, before starting on our first full day in Fort Kochi.

Not quite into the local cuisine yet. Fresh fruit pancakes and a platter of fresh fruit and yoghurt to follow.
